Once upon a time, I tried posting a weekly update on everything I was doing.  That… didn’t happen very often.  I think it was also pretty boring!  But there’s usually something interesting that happens at least once a month… so I thought I might try a monthly round-up and see how that goes.

So what about this month?

Near the middle of the month, I attended a little presentation by a couple of local historians and authors.  To say it wasn’t inspiring would be a huge lie.  Not only did it inspire me to explore the area a bit more (though I haven’t had a chance to do that, yet), but also to write… specifically blog posts and you’ll hear more about that later this week.

The big news this month is that, although I decided not to go to Vegas next month, I will be going to Orlando, Florida in August for Star Wars Celebration V.  You’ve heard a bit about this in the past; you’ll hear more about it in the weeks to come, I’m sure.  I had pretty much decided that I couldn’t go, but there was a seat sale that, considering how much and how long I’ve wanted to go, I just couldn’t pass up.  I’ll be in Orlando August 11 – 17 (flying out so early that morning that I’ll be able to knock off a night of the hotel reservation) with the convention running from the 12th to the 15th.  I’m looking for something to fill in the extra time so I’m open to suggestions!  I’m usually most interested in history and photographing architecture and land/seacapes, but interested in hearing what else there is to do in Orlando (other than theme parks).

The month drew to a close with a two night stay in the city.  It was mostly for the Junior Achievement Company Program Awards Gala.  The weekend wasn’t really planned out very well, so it was only productive in the money spending area, as we mostly just wandered around shopping.

Between those things and the projects I’m almost always working on, including the completion of my extensive England Travel Journal, it’s been a really busy month!  I don’t expect May to be much better.
