my Sunday photo - fountain pen still life

Tonight I played around with a quote and a still life for a photo assignment on variations. If you’re following my blog, you’ll read more about it in a few weeks. (It’s a busy time on the blog right now!) But for now, I’m feature this fountain pen still life, below, and I have a few other faves on Flickr.

Fountain Pen Still Life

All Photographs

I wrote out the quote, from Susan Sontag, below, with my Pilot Plumix pen and De Atramentis Elderberries ink.

“All photographs are memento mori. To take a photograph is to participate in another person’s (or thing’s) mortality, vulnerability, mutability. Precisely by slicing out this moment and freezing it, all photographs testify to time’s relentless melt.”
Susan Sontag
