Coming Out of Hiding for a Good Cause

So, my last post was in April.  Sorry about that!  I’ve been trying to figure out my priorities with regards to blogging.  I think I have a plan, actually, that I will try in the new year, if not before.

But I’m making an appearance now to share my new ‘do.  Those that know me, know it’s an uncommon occurring and therefore definitely worthy of a blog post!

Locks of Love

Some of you may recall the last time I chopped off my hair.  I knew at that time that this would be a fairly regular thing – cut, grow, cut.  So lately I’ve been realizing that it was time to donate again.  I figured I’d do it in the spring to get another inch or so.  More recently, I’ve also realized that I needed to do… something… with it – sooner; not in the spring.  I just didn’t like the look anymore; I needed bangs… or something.  My friend Stacey agreed and helped me narrow down what I thought I wanted.  It didn’t really make sense to get a style now and then chop it in a few months (at least, it didn’t make sense to ME) that means… donation day!!

A couple of before pics

(yes, that is me feeding a bear with my mouth :P ) These photos were both taken by Nutty. Check her out!

Now for the afters…

Even though I went much shorter this time, my braid was shorter too.  I think if I’d given it a full three years it would have been the same length.  Even still, it’s about 13-14″ long.

I had my hair cut by Julia at BeLeaf Salon & Spa.  She was really helpful (and nervous about cutting off the pony tail!).  I had no idea what I wanted her to do with my hair, other than ‘cut off the pony tail and give me bangs. Don’t go shorter than the chin’.  Julia was patient and told me how to style it, and really wants me to buy a hair dryer.  :P I should get on that soon…

I’ll be sending off the braid next week.  If anyone would like to donate money to the organization let me know and I will include it in the package :)
