Description: Eating Well to Grow Well! is an interactive nutrition workshop that is all about encouraging children to eat healthy. It is designed specifically for Pre-Primary to Grade 3 teachers! This workshop provides valuable information on childhood nutrition, and covers topics such as children’s nutrient needs, the importance of healthy and balanced meals and snacks, the link between good nutrition and academic performance, and much more. Teachers that attend a workshop will receive useful educational resources as well as grade-specific student activity sheets.

About the Facilitator: Elaine is a Registered Dietitian and the Provincial Project Manager, Nutrition – Health Education in Nova Scotia for Dairy Farmers of Canada. Elaine works within a team of dietitians who strive not only to gain knowledge of scientific data related to nutrition and education but also to translate this information into effective, innovative and award-winning programs. A focus for the team of dietitians is to develop programs and resources that both support educators in learning about food and nutrition and also help educators teach children about food and nutrition. Elaine has enjoyed facilitating continuing education workshops for Early Childhood Educators in Nova Scotia since 2014.
