Resource Spotlight: Valley Storytime

Books and discovery kits aren’t the only great resources out there for ECEs.  The Internet is home to countless websites, documents and videos that can be useful in your program as well as  personal and professional development.  For that reason I thought I would include a website recommendation, once a month, to this series.  And I’m starting close to home.

Valley Storytime is a blog run by Angela Reynolds of the Annapolis Valley Regional Library.  Not only has she been a children’s librarian for 15 years, but she has facilitated several workshops for us!

Once or twice a month, she posts a list of great books to use at story time. Look for them at your local bookstore or from the library itself and use them in your program!

Don’t forget about all of the other services on the library’s main site, like the Kids’ Corner and Teen Zone.  Of course, let’s not forget all the great books they have in the collection.  Visit your local branch or bookmobile.  You could even bring the children!
