We are very excited to bring you all the important information about this year’s conference! We hope you enjoy the conference just as much (or more, if that’s possible!) as we enjoyed planning it!
This cnference for Early Childhood Educators, focusing on Curriculum, will take place here at Kingstec, 236 Belcher St., Kentville, NS on Saturday, May 5, 2012. Doors open at 9:00am and the cost for the day is $75 per person. Please note that we have created a conference specific registration form. Please use this to register (below, with a full conference flyer) and keep in mind our workshop guidelines.
New this year is the addition of a Pre-Conference session the evening before along with our Caring At Work awards. That will take place Friday, May 4, 2012 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. If 6pm is a bit early for you, never fear! The workshop will begin at 7pm. Before that will be the Caring at Work awards and time for food and networking. Arriving a bit late won’t be a problem. We’ll also be holding this at Kingstec and the cost is $20 per person. Attending the conference the next day? Conference attendees will be able to attend this evening session for free, with the added bonus of being able to pick up your conference materials the evening before. This will save you time in the morning that could be better spent visiting the trade show, grabbing a cup of coffee from our refreshment table and networking with your colleagues. Please note that spaces are limited for the pre-conference session.
As mentioned previously, we are focusing on curriculum in this conference and we’ll have sessions on Math & Literacy, Science & Nature, and Toddler Transition as well as a day of sessions on story telling! In addition, we’ll have an interactive session on Elluminate to help you learn this online workshop system and an entire afternoon on the Handle with Care program, “Strategies for Promoting the Mental Health of Young Children in Community-based Child Care”.
Cindy Campbell, a Nova Scotian singer and storyteller, will be our ‘headliner’ for the conference and pre-conference session. Lorraine Mockford will guide you through the flexible (and not scary) world of Online Learning. We’ll also being bring back favourites Liz Hicks, Shannon Harrison and Meaghan Forster-Raymond!
