Well, I’ve been gone for a while. I took November off to participate in a little (BIG??) challenge. I’d actually considered not starting back up again, but I came across a blog that linked to loads of photo challenges. I spent a day going through the list and picking out a bunch that interested me. I decided I’d use these and other bloggy type challenges to guide me through a daily project of some sort. We’ll see how that goes and I take a much needed brain break and start prioritizing my life for the new year.
We’ll start back in with a photo challenge: Favourite Photo Monday
This photo, taken last week, documents our first snow of the season. Snow welcomed us with a bang this year! We received about 2 feet of snow that day. Aside from the snowbanks, we’re back to green grass now.
Day 82 – What stitching in hand with 2 yards of fabric looks like…

Is it winter on Day 83 already?

Nope. Just a shot outside the arena.

I love winter and the cold and the snow, but I still do enjoy the sounds of Spring – rushing water in the storm drains and creeks from the valley’s ridge, the melting snow, dripping water and snow falling from rooftops.

When it’s so cold out the snow has turned to ice and crunches, loud, underfoot.

I love when it snows LOTS and after the snowblower’s been through, we’re left with these awesome canyons of snow to walk through. Very cool :)
One of the things I love about winter (there are many!) is icicles. Even better are icicle Popsicles! Haven’t had one of those in years, though…
Having them fall on your head would NOT be a favourite thing, though! :P
I love it when I get to skip work because of a snow storm! Don’t get me wrong, I love my job… but who doesn’t enjoy a day off!?
As I was already wide awake when I found out about my day off I didn’t go back to bed or sleep in. I spent the day cross stitching and was able to finish a project. I’ll post pics later!
Are you in a snow day area? What’s your favourite thing to do on these days?
A beautiful clearing sky after a snow/rain storm. Again, winter is beautiful!
