Is it winter on Day 83 already?
Nope. Just a shot outside the arena.

B is for beads…
This is a close up of some beading on my recently completely Illuminated Medieval Sampler.
The End….
Finished this piece today :) Click on the photo to learn more about the piece.
I was going through my beads today for a friend and thought this set would make a great 365 photo :)
The next best thing after finishing a piece, is starting a new one!
I love finishing a cross stitch project, especially the big ones. It’s a sense of accomplishment as well as a chance to look at the beautiful picture I’ve created over the months/years and hundreds of hours. I finished this project, The Mighty Samurai, yesterday during a snow day!
During my Christmas break, I’ve been concentrating a lot on my Mighty Samurai cross stitch piece. It’s been in progress since 2003. At some point during that time I dropped a highlighter on it.
Oops. (the highlighter is much more noticeable IRL)
I probably could have tried to wash it once I noticed what had happened and that may or may not have helped, but I was worried about the threads running if they got wet (with dark reds and purples in the design, that was definitely something to consider.
As I continued on, however, I realized that the problem would sort itself out as I went. As you can see in the second picture, the stitching completely covers the stain! Sweet! :D
One of my favourite hobbies is cross stitching. It’s a way to create beautiful pieces of art without having to be overly creative or talented. I just follow the directions and put each colour where those instructions tell me to put it. The most creative I get is if I choose a fabric colour to something other than that recommended. I don’t create my own designs or anything like that, although I hope one day to be able to.
My favourite types of patterns are large ones; pictures with a lot of beads or sparkly or silk threads.
Check out my the designs I have completed, and am working on, here.
Are you a stitcher? What type of patterns do you like?
