Visiting the parentals also means visiting the puppies :p
Think I missed a day? Nope! Day 96 was posted over on my creative blog. In the new year, I have a much better system planned out for this kind of thing! The next few days I will not be at home so it’s possible I’ll have to do a catch up post on Friday again.
For today…

By Sara Gruen
Genre: Historical Romance? (I’m really not good at this genre thing if it doesn’t tell me…)
I want to: Read it; maybe own it.
This is not a book I would normally pick up. Circus? Great Depression? No thanks. But then I found out that this was a NaNoWriMo novel that piqued my interest – a NaNo novel that was not only published but made into a movie? I need to read it!
Summary from Goodreads:
Though he may not speak of them, the memories still dwell inside Jacob Jankowski’s ninety-something-year-old mind. Memories of himself as a young man, tossed by fate onto a rickety train that was home to the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth. Memories of a world filled with freaks and clowns, with wonder and pain and anger and passion; a world with its own narrow, irrational rules, its own way of life, and its own way of death. The world of the circus: to Jacob it was both salvation and a living hell. …
So, today I chopped off my hair.
Once I got home and was playing with the ponytail (I’m donating it) the top of the ponytail intrigued me and I had to photograph it. But then it was blurry. I should have reshot it, but I didn’t. Instead I ran it through a few filters and options in photoshop until it created this wintery puff ball… thing.
:)

I posted a shot of this cement factory… thing… once over the summer, but I was a bit inspired walking home from work this evening with the clouds and everything. It’s a safe bet that this will make it on the blog at least once or twice more!

The paper towel that I’ve been wiping my dip pen off on. It’s really quite pretty… and Christmasy. I’m thinking I might even iron it out and use it to wrap presents!

Pulled this photo from my Flickr stream. Love it :P
Love the sign itself and also the result of my Photoshop fun. Took this on the Photowalk I lead of Annapolis Royal at the beginning of October.
Well, I’ve been gone for a while. I took November off to participate in a little (BIG??) challenge. I’d actually considered not starting back up again, but I came across a blog that linked to loads of photo challenges. I spent a day going through the list and picking out a bunch that interested me. I decided I’d use these and other bloggy type challenges to guide me through a daily project of some sort. We’ll see how that goes and I take a much needed brain break and start prioritizing my life for the new year.
We’ll start back in with a photo challenge: Favourite Photo Monday
This photo, taken last week, documents our first snow of the season. Snow welcomed us with a bang this year! We received about 2 feet of snow that day. Aside from the snowbanks, we’re back to green grass now.

Welcome
